My Dad passed in spring of 2024. He was a bit of a suburban homesteader and had a large amount of firewood. I believe it was 2022 or 2023 he spent most of his time hand splitting three different trees they had taken down. I took some under the guise of burning it, but eventually bought a desktop jointer and planer to mill it. It was made trickier because my Dad split wood extremely small so it was hard to get usable pieces out of the splits. I dried it with the dehydrate mode on our oven and toaster oven. Then milled and made into an end grain cutting board and gifted it to my mom at Thanksgiving 2024.
